of web graphic file formats in terms of file size and image
quality for two types of images, photographs and line drawings.
Photograph saved as JPG, gif
and png formats.
The original photo (Taken by me during a scuba
diving trip in Cozumel, Mexico.) was scanned as a TIFF file and required
5,089,448 bytes of storage. The image size is for the full sized version of the
picture, not the thumbnails. As a matter of fact the thumbnails for all the
JPG pics range from 3,169 to 3,183 bytes. The gif thumbnail is 12,210 bytes.
