How do you find out what are the height and width of an images? 

Browsers can give you that information.  For example, to find out the height and width of the text image at the top of this page.

1.  With this page loaded into a browser window, pass the mouse over the image and press the right mouse button,  as  illustrated in this screen capture. (click on image to view full size)

2. Select Properties from the pop-up window and you will see a display like this in Internet Explorer;

 

 

 

Or if you are using Netscape 6, you will see the information displayed in this format: 

 

 


 

3. If your image is not on a web page already, in Netscape 6.0 you can select from the main menu File, then Open File.  Find the image you want to identify and load the image into the  browser.  The file size will be displayed at the top of the browser window, as illustrated here.


4. Loading image into Microsoft Paint program to access dimensions.  After image is loaded into Pain, select the Image menu option, then select Attributes (Ctrl+E). 

5. You will be presented with a window of  attributes including width and height.
